Andy attended the site on day one to work with the business management team to:
- Arrange demolition of the building
- Establish temporary premises and equipment
- Source replacement stock
It was important to send clear and positive signals to customers so the appropriate advertising was arranged supporting the key message of ‘business as usual’.
Following negotiations we were able to successfully agree a settlement for the claim and recovery of the business.
Andy established and agreed the true cost of reinstating the building, including the costs of upgrading to current building regulations. We then provided the client with key guidance on the options available under the policy, allowing them to take the opportunity to reinstate the premises using a bespoke retail outlet design which accommodated and supported their future expansion plans. The business equipment was also reinstated in a different and more modern form. These actions turned the negative event into one with a positive outcome for the insured.
Advice, together with a regular program of substantial interim payments, proactively supported the recovery of the business. An old warehouse building owned by the insured was fully refurbished as a temporary retail outlet whilst reinstatement was taking place and ‘opening events’ were arranged when the ‘new’ store was occupied. A successful outcome.
